Return
2015
Meredith Turnbull, Return, 26 November - 19 December, 2015 at Daine Singer, Naarm/Melbourne
Return explored artists practices that draw from historical examples within the period of Modernism to inform contemporary artworks. For this exhibition I developed a hanging structure for objects and jewellery, a series of photographs that explored interior architecture and interior design and a hanging textile work. These elements were designed to work together within the exhibition to delineate and frame the territory of the artwork. This territory included notions of the sculpture as functional design object and was reflected between scales and dimensions through the use of interior scaled sculpture, furniture design, fabric design and images of interiors.
